Très bel échantillon de sturmanite provenant de la célèbre mine de N’Chwanning, dans le bassin manganésifère du Kalahari, mondialement reconnue pour la diversité et la qualité exceptionnelle de ses minéraux rares.
La sturmanite se présente sous la forme d’un cristal allongé et épais, bien individualisé, de couleur jaune doré intense à jaune miel, avec une transparence partielle et un éclat vitreux à légèrement résineux. Les faces montrent des stries de croissance nettes ainsi que de fines inclusions internes, conférant au cristal une grande richesse visuelle.
Le cristal est élégamment enchâssé dans une gangue de calcite translucide, composée de cristaux bien développés, dont les arêtes et les surfaces réfléchissantes amplifient la luminosité de la sturmanite. L’association crée un jeu de contrastes remarquable entre le jaune chaud du minéral principal et la clarté cristalline de la calcite environnante.
La sturmanite est une espèce relativement rare, très recherchée lorsqu’elle se présente en cristaux bien formés et esthétiques, comme c’est le cas ici.
 
Fine sturmanite specimen from the famous N’Chwanning Mine, located in the Kalahari manganese field, a world-class locality renowned for its exceptional diversity of rare mineral species.
The sturmanite occurs as a thick, elongated and well-isolated crystal, displaying an intense golden-yellow to honey-yellow color, with partial transparency and a vitreous to slightly resinous luster. Well-defined growth striations and delicate internal inclusions enhance the visual complexity of the crystal.
The crystal is attractively set in a matrix of translucent calcite, composed of well-formed crystals whose reflective faces enhance the brilliance of the sturmanite. This association creates a striking contrast between the warm yellow tones of the main crystal and the clear, crystalline calcite matrix.
Sturmanite is a relatively rare species, especially prized when found as well-developed and aesthetically pleasing crystals, as seen in this specimen.
