Superbe sphalérite de Wheal Jane, Royaume-Uni, présentant une cristallisation particulièrement remarquable par la taille, le nombre et la qualité des cristaux. Les cristaux noirs à brun très sombre se détachent nettement sur une matrice de quartz blanc à incolore, offrant un contraste particulièrement esthétique.
La sphalérite forme ici de nombreux cristaux bien développés, massifs et fortement brillants, avec des faces et arêtes nettement individualisées. Plusieurs individus présentent des formes cristallines complexes et des surfaces richement structurées, certaines faces révélant de fines stries et des zonations de croissance particulièrement intéressantes. L'éclat résineux à submétallique de la sphalérite contraste avec la transparence et l'éclat vitreux du quartz.
 
Superb sphalerite from Wheal Jane, United Kingdom, displaying an exceptional crystallization notable for the size, abundance and quality of its crystals. The black to very dark brown sphalerite crystals stand out strikingly against a matrix of white to colorless quartz, creating an excellent visual contrast.
The sphalerite forms numerous well-developed, strongly lustrous crystals, with clearly defined faces and edges. Several individuals display complex crystal forms and richly textured surfaces, with fine growth striations and zoning visible on some faces. The resinous to submetallic luster of the sphalerite contrasts beautifully with the vitreous luster and transparency of the surrounding quartz.
