Sphalerite Jordanite | Lengenbach, Suisse - Micromount
Fine crystallization of yellow to honey-yellow sphalerite, forming a dense assemblage of intergrown crystals on white dolomitic matrix. The individuals display tetrahedral to polyhedral forms, with broad faces, sharp edges and numerous growth striations and surface features, particularly evident on the larger crystals. Several generations of crystallization can be distinguished, ranging from well-developed larger individuals to fine microcrystalline coatings on the matrix.Jordanite, although present in the paragenesis of this specimen, is not visible in the photograph and is therefore mentioned only as an associated species
