Échantillon remarquable provenant de Fortullino, une localité italienne connue pour ses micas atypiques et parfaitement individualisés. Au centre de la cavité repose une mélanophlogopite en disque translucide à nacré, d’une perfection et symétrie exceptionnelles. La forme lenticulaire, quasi circulaire, montre des croissances internes concentriques très nettes, typiques de l’espèce lorsqu’elle se développe librement en zone vacuolaire.
L’éclat nacré à soyeux de la mélanophlogopite contraste magnifiquement avec la matrice jaune pâle composée d’agrégats finement cristallins, offrant un cadre lumineux mettant en valeur la pureté du disque.
 
Outstanding specimen from Fortullino, a locality renowned for producing unusually well-defined mica crystals. At the centre of the cavity sits a translucent, pearly melanophlogopite disc, showing remarkable symmetry and surface perfection. The almost circular, lens-shaped crystal exhibits clear internal concentric growth patterns, characteristic of free-grown melanophlogopite in open cavities.
Its silky to pearly lustre contrasts beautifully with the pale yellow matrix composed of finely crystallized aggregates, providing a bright setting that enhances the purity of the disc.
