Cristal isolé de grenat provenant du site volcanique de La Denise, près du Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire), localité classique du Massif Central.
Le spécimen présente un cristal automorphe bien formé, aux faces nettes et brillantes, développant une morphologie polyédrique typique du système cubique (forme dodécaédrique dominante). La couleur brun rouge profond à lie-de-vin est caractéristique des grenats de cette occurrence, avec une légère translucidité sur les arêtes.
Le cristal est délicatement posé sur une matrice claire, probablement feldspathique ou siliceuse, dont le contraste met en valeur la géométrie et la teinte soutenue du grenat. La surface montre un éclat vitreux et une belle régularité des faces, soulignant la qualité de cristallisation.
Les grenats de La Denise sont généralement rattachés à la série des almandins-spessartines liés aux formations volcaniques du Velay.

Isolated garnet crystal from the volcanic site of La Denise, near Le Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire), a classic locality of the French Massif Central.
The specimen displays a well-formed euhedral crystal, with sharp, lustrous faces showing a typical cubic system morphology (dominantly dodecahedral). The deep reddish-brown to wine color is characteristic of garnets from this occurrence, with slight translucency along the edges.
The crystal is delicately set on a light-colored matrix, likely feldspathic or siliceous, whose contrast enhances both the geometry and the rich coloration of the garnet. The surface exhibits a vitreous luster and well-defined faces, emphasizing the quality of crystallization.
Garnets from La Denise are generally associated with the almandine–spessartine series linked to the volcanic formations of the Velay region.
