Ce superbe cristal de brookite provenant de Jarrier, au lieu-dit Le Grand Châtelard, en France, se distingue par sa cristallisation tabulaire bien développée, aux faces planes nettement marquées et à l’éclat submétallique sombre caractéristique. La brookite est un oxyde de titane (TiO₂), beaucoup plus rare que les autres polymorphes du titane.
Le cristal est enclavé dans une matrice de quartz blanc translucide, offrant un contraste esthétique remarquable qui met en valeur la géométrie et la teinte foncée de la brookite. Les spécimens alpins français de Jarrier sont très recherchés, tant pour leur qualité cristalline que pour leur intérêt minéralogique.
 
This excellent brookite crystal from Jarrier, at Le Grand Châtelard, France, displays a well-developed tabular crystal habit, with sharp flat faces and a characteristic dark submetallic luster. Brookite is a titanium oxide (TiO₂) and is significantly rarer than other titanium polymorphs.
